Ambivalent Imma Speaks

Whoa. Something to think about, at the very least.

I understand what that pressure from family members and society is all about... but seriously, I don't believe that someone can really actually be "forced" to have a child. In the end, it's up to each couple to make that decision, and I think, that blaming your decision on society (in general, I'm not talking about the post)works. In the end, you're the one who's going to be raising the child, and it's only YOUR decision... nobody else can live your life for you!

I agree with irina. The post expressed a lot of emotions and I certainly feel some sympathy for the fact that parenthood was not what she expected, but a person cannot be forced to have a child. She might have felt some pressure, but if she really didn't want one, she didn't have to have one. I have a Catholic friend who had her tubes tied. She was one of 11 and all her siblings had many children. Obviously, there was a lot of family pressure over there, but she really didn't want any kids.
